Cultivars: Blended by the tea farmer using zairai (non-cultivar) and yabukita leaves. The zairai field is the farm's oldest at 80+ years
The aroma of this kamairicha has fresh hay and a nutty toastiness, offering thickness and fullness in the mouth with a crisp vegetal aftertaste.
Kamairicha (釜炒り茶) or "pan-roasted tea" is heat-treated in a pan to prevent the leaves from oxidizing, just as Sencha would be steamed. Kamairichas are generally brighter and fresher and less dry and marine than senchas.
Brewing suggestion: 2 tsp/200 ml, 70–80 ⁰C, 1½–3 min
